Omg Reader, can you believe itâs already back-to-school season?! Where did summer even go? If youâre a teacher gearing up for another school yearâbless you. Iâm wishing you luck, patience, and a ton of self-control. (If you know, you know. đ) You truly are the unsung heroes. This edition of the newsletter is inspired by a friend of mine whoâs about to send her kiddo off to college (cue the emotional support snacks), and it got me thinking: There are a few simple ways anyone can add storageâeven when space feels tight. So whether youâre moving into a dorm, downsizing, or just trying to make a tiny room feel less chaotic, here are 3 easy tips to maximize your space. Tip #1: From the Window⊠to the WALL! đ¶ If youâre not using your wall space for storage, youâre seriously missing out on some prime real estate. Think command hooks, push pins, and pegboardsâI use them to hang everything from hats to oven mitts in my apartment. Bonus tip: Donât forget the backs of doors and cabinets, too. Thatâs valuable space just waiting to be useful. Iâve got an over-the-door towel rack and a mirror that live rent-free on mine, and they make a big difference. â You know the best way to make sure there are no monsters under the bed? Use that space for storage instead. đ Right now, Iâve got our dogâs crate, my collapsible rolling rack (for client closet projects), and a low-profile storage bin holding all our gift wrap suppliesâbags, bows, paper, and all the extras. Itâs the perfect spot for the stuff you donât need every day, but still want easy access to. Tip #3: Roll to Me đ¶ A 3-tier rolling utility cart is officially one of my favorite small space solutions. Theyâre incredibly versatile and can be used just about anywhere. Turn one into a coffee bar, a bedside station, a snack or pantry setup, or a hub for school suppliesâthe options are endless. Iâve even got one in my home that we use as a bar cart. Itâs cute and functional, which is always a win in my book. Conclusion: Small spaces donât have to feel cramped. With a few smart swapsâlike going vertical, using under-bed storage, and adding a rolling cartâyou can create room without the clutter. Whether youâre setting up a dorm or just trying to make your own space work better, these tips are a great place to start. Got a favorite small space hack?
